Celebrating an historic occassion

On 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms, and the Commonwealth.

To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, there will be a street party in Woodland Drive on Friday 3rd June 2022.

The street party will provide an opportunity for residents to come together to celebrate this historic milestone.

The Plan

Big Marquee
Bouncy Castle
Music
BBQ
Soft drinks, wine and beer
Activities for the kiddies
Scones, Strawberries and Cream, Cakes

What’s happening on the day?

We will begin setting up at around 8 am on Friday 3rd June starting with erecting the marquee. We will need several volunteers to help us with the erection!

Once the marquee is erected, residents are free to bring along their garden tables and chairs and place them in the marquee ready for later.

Tables will need to be placed at one end of the marquee for food so if anyone has a suitable table, please let us know. If you are kindly bringing cakes, salads, or any other food to share, this can be left on the food tables at around 1:30 pm

Ideally, we would like to start lighting the BBQs at around 1:00 pm, so if you’re bringing a BBQ, please have it in place by 1 pm.

It would probably be best to have just a couple of volunteers to run the BBQs (depending on how many bbq’s there are), so if you bring your food for grilling to them, they can cook it accordingly. Please don’t all rush in immediately and expect your food to be cooked straight away – relax, have a glass of wine and enjoy the day!

The bouncy castle will be erected in the morning ready for when the party starts but will not be fully inflated until the festivities begin. Parents need to be aware that they will be fully responsible for the safety of their children whilst they are playing in the bouncy castle.

Your Jubilee Street Party Needs You!

Refreshments

Attendees are asked to bring along their tipple of choice and any other soft drinks they may require.
If you’re feeling generous and would like to donate any other soft drinks, wine, spirits, or beers to help get the party started, we would be most grateful (that would be a wonderful thing to do!)

Please use the contact button below to get in touch or maybe join in with the planning.

BBQ's

Attendees will need to bring their food for grilling on the available BBQs. To help out, if anyone else has a large BBQ and some charcoal and is willing to help out on the day, that would be terrific.
Additionally, salads, bread rolls, sauces, and relishes will be needed!

Please use the contact button below to get in touch or maybe join in with the planning.

Cakes, Scones, Strawberries and Cream

What is a party without any of these things?!
I’m sure we have some wonderful cake and scone makers down Woodland Drive. How about showing the rest of us how fantastic your bakes are!?

Please use the contact button below to get in touch or maybe join in with the planning.

Bouncy Castle

A bouncy castle will be available (for the kids only!). Parents must be responsible for the safety and supervision of their children whilst using this facility.

Please use the contact button below to get in touch or maybe join in with the planning.

Face Painting

A face painter may be spending a short time on the day decorating the faces of our little ones. The only thing we need now is someone who knows how to face paint! Any volunteers?

Please use the contact button below to get in touch or maybe join in with the planning.

Music and Entertainment

The last time we had a street party, Jason and Amanda did a great job with their wi-fi hi-fi. Luckily, they have once again offered to provide this service to us, and if anyone has a P.A. system that would be great too! Better still, if we have any musicians or bands who’d like to entertain us, please get in touch!

Please use the contact button below to get in touch or maybe join in with the planning.
